For the Little Girls

My new pieces were inspired by the necessity for a cute baby gift for a friend who is having a little baby girl in the end of August and the countless numbers of people at my last sale asking for little girl headbands and hair clips.

Every little girl needs a big flower on the side of her head! These are the only two I've made so far, but I'll have more at my sale and am taking custom orders now. I give discounts for bulk orders.

I've also decided to make some hair clips. I plan on making several with my frayed fabric flowers and the rosettes like shown above. I think these will be popular at the sale. Again, I'm taking custom orders!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

First of all, I'm loving that it is actually Wednesday. I've been thinking all day that it's Tuesday, so that's a nice surprise.

I'm linking up with Jamie for WILW!

I'm loving that I had a successful beach vacation with my friends this past weekend. We all had fun, and I'm sad that I'm back in the real world. Also, just want everyone to know that I won at putt-putt. That's a pretty big deal!

I'm loving that I only have one more day of work this week. I'm using Friday to get ready for my next Market Day sale.

Speaking of Market Day, I'm loving that the next sale is next Saturday. While this does mean that I only have a little over a week to get ready, I'm excited that it's so close! I'm hoping for as much success this month.

Free Sweet Tea

Chick-Fil-A's in the greater Atlanta area are giving away 1/2 gallons of their sweet and unsweet tea August 1-13. All you have to do is make a reservation, print your coupon, and go pick it up during your scheduled time.

WILW

I'm linking up with Jamie again for WILW!

I'm loving that today is like my Friday. I just have to make it to 4:00, and I'm free for a 5-day weekend!

I'm loving that I'm heading to the beach tomorrow morning with 3 of my best friends! I can't wait for some fun in the sun, shopping, and relaxing.

I'm loving that I got my assignment for the August market day. I participated last month and was very pleased with the experience. I'm in a different booth spot, so hopefully this one will be just as lucky! Now, I've got to get busy inventory-ing all my new pieces and getting everything ready. I learned a lot last month, so I'm going to be changing my set-up just a little.

Hope y'all are having wonderful Wednesdays!!

WILW!!

I'm linking up with Jamie again for WILW!

This Wednesday, I'm loving my new Vintage Finds Collage Cuff Bracelets. I have so many vintage treasures, so I've started putting them to good use.

I'm loving my Droid. I've only had the thing for a week, but I can't believe I waited so long to get a smart phone!

I'm loving that I got to see some of my college friends this past weekend, and that Kelsey and Gary had a beautiful wedding! Such a fun weekend!

I'm loving that I'll be able to go to the beach again next week with some of my favorite people! Can't wait for another fun trip!

Vintage Finds Collage Cuffs

I've been busy collecting all my vintage finds and grouping them perfectly to make Collage Cuffs. I just love this idea.

I've wrapped aluminum cuff bracelets with linen fabric. Some of the bracelets include braided rosettes, vintage finds, and new pieces.

This "Sparkle" cuff bracelets features two mini-braided rosettes supporting a gold vintage framing pin. The rhinestone details are redesigned and given new life as they used to part of a vintage costume necklace.

This simple "Bow" cuff features a vintage gold chain wrapped around the bracelet. The large gold bow used to be a brooch.

This was the very first cuff I made. This "Gold Flower" cuff features large braided rosettes with several vintage pieces. The gold filigree flower pieces and the larger gold flower with pearl center were once brooches. The two accent pearls were a part of a larger costume necklace.

This "Pearl and Chain" cuff features linen and chain mail braided together. The large pendant was once on a very unique vintage charm necklace. The two accent pearls were a part of a costume necklace.

This "Pink" cuff is so feminine. Two large braided rosettes support an intricate vintage pin and pink rose earring. The small cameo is a new piece that adds a pop of color.

I'd love to get feedback on these new pieces. I'm hoping to add them to my Etsy shop soon, but they are for sale through my blog. Please contact me if you are interested (shipping will be added to final price).

I really enjoy making these and have plans for several more designs to come soon!

Today's Featured Item

With all the attention this ring got two Saturday's ago at my Market Day Sale, I'm not sure how I still have it.

So many people tried it on and loved it! It's the one item that I cannot believe didn't sell (just based on the sheer number of people who picked it up).

I absolutely love this ring (which might be why I kept it's twin for myself). I'm not sure it will make it through another Market Day sale. If you have to have it, buy it now!

A Great Wedding Idea

I know I've shared before the awesome idea my friend Emily had for her wedding. But now, I want to share pictures!!

Emily had me make flower headbands for all of the bridesmaid and herself for us to wear at the reception. We hand picked the fabric to match perfectly with her navy blue theme.

Obviously, fun was had by all, and the headbands were a hit! I just think this was the cutest idea, and it's perfect for any wedding!

I give discount prices for bulk orders, and I love making custom pieces. Contact me with any questions or for a pricing quote.

A Small Change and a Big Change

So one small change - I've removed my "iPhone Meter" from my sidebar.

One big change - I went with the Droid Incredible 2 over the iPhone.

I have been wanting an iPhone for quite a while, but several events led to my change of heart. A lovely follower of mine informed me that Verizon was going to be changing their prices on their smartphone data packages. I did a little research and found that they were totally removing the unlimited choice. As of now, I think they have adopted a tiered system. I really wanted to get grandfathered in on the lower unlimited price!

My bank account was also more Droid friendly. This phone was marked down $50 for my account with an additional $50 online discount. Add on my $30 upgrade discount, and I was quite a happy camper.

I have several friends with Droid, and they love their phones! In my house, my brother is the go-to electronic guy. So before I made my purchase and final decision, I had to call him. He's an iPhone user, so I know I could trust his opinion.

Long story short, I went with the Droid. So far, I'm loving it!! I purchased a white case it for it, so it's almost like having a white iPhone!

WILW

I'm linking up with Jamie again for WILW!!

I'm loving that it's Wednesday...Hump Day!!

I'm loving that I'm heading to Charleston Friday morning to celebrate with my friends Kelsey and Gary! They're getting married on Saturday afternoon, so I've got a weekend of wedding festivities to look forward to! (Not to mention, I get to see some of my friends I haven't seen all summer!!)

I'm loving that Monday was the 4th of July, and that I got to spend the holiday in my hometown with my boy. I wouldn't trade our hysterical laughing in the sudden downpour for actually getting to watch fireworks anyday.

Can't wait to see what y'all are loving today!

Exciting Etsy News

We got some very exciting Etsy news last week. My dad's life drawing shop, Life Study, had it's first sale!

What's even more exciting is that the drawing shown above sold to the set decorator for the NBC show Parenthood. We're hoping that the drawing will show up in some of the episodes as he had to sign a release form.

As far as first sales go, I think that's just about as good as it can get!

July Market Day

Yesterday was my very first mass sale booth-thing. My town has been having a First Saturday Market around the square for a number of years now, and I've been a frequent visitor and buyer. My mom convinced me that I needed to get a booth for the July Market (since we had already missed the deadline for June). Luckily, I got all my registration application material in on time and made the cut! Apparently they end up with a long waiting list each month.

So from that time on, I had been busily making new pieces and working on my display in between two jobs and everything else I had going on.

I have to admit I was nervous before the sale. Is this something that ever goes away? I was just worried I wouldn't make my $35 registration fee back, or it would rain, or my booth would blow away in a gust of wind, or I wouldn't be received well.

Luckily, the weather was perfect! It was a little hot, but the small breeze helped with that. I definitely made my registration fee back, and I'm already planning on doing it again next month! Having this first booth, I learned some things I want to change for next time.

Here's a few pictures from the day!
Orange and white striped road-blockers were not part of my design concept.

My final table design
I hung my earring frames and new earring cages from ribbon to frame my booth.
The sign my dad made for my booth

I was so happy at the end of my sale. I had a great experience, and I'm looking forward to the first Saturday in August!
